I went thru surgery and have been on this medication for months. I have either misplaced or loss my medication and am not due for refill until Dec. 21st and it is Dec 16th. My question is will i be ok until then. My last dose was taken last night.
That's enough of a dosage to cause you some withdrawal symptoms. Cold sweats, anxiety, etc. Most Doctors don't do well with "misplaced or lost," especially with C-2 controlled meds.
If you have a good record of refilling on time (no earlies) and your Doc considers you trustworthy, it's definitely worth contacting and trying for an early refill.
Again, be prepared because even with a good relationship this is one of the most abused meds out there, and it's natural for a Dr to be apprehensive/hesitant to simply give you more just like that.
Again, it's worth a try as 5-days is enough of a gap to cause you some mild to significant misery, and starting up again may be tricky so you may want to mention it to the Doc either way.
Best to you, hope this helps.
Since you have been taking this medication regularly for quite sometime, you will most likely experience withdrawal symptoms including restlessness, diarrhea, and cramping. I would either find it or get ahold of the doctor and see if he is willing to help so to avoid the discomfort.
I had meds stolen, mega doses. My pain doc and I have a great relationship. I've never called for an early refill, never abused my meds, etc. If you have a good relationship, I bet it will be fine. And since it wasn't refill time and insurance wouldn't improve it, he even tweaked something's.
best of luck!
Dang that sucks. I know you've resolved the issue since this is an old post, don't ask your pharmacy to call the doc for you. I've been in the pharmacy business going on 9 years in Florida. It makes the patient look like they are abusing. You should contact the doctor immediately yourself.
