I was ovulating and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, two nights in a row. The third day we decided to get Plan B One Step. It was 48 hours and 30 minutes exactly. I was ovulating while we had unprotected sex and I don't know if the pill was as effective or not. Can someone help
No, once you have ovulated Plan B may as well be a placebo. Fortunately those apps you get for your smart phone are only about 60% accurate (if you are lucky).
Plan B is only supposed to be used as an emergency as it's mode of action is to postpone ovulation for about 3 days and make the uterus a little more unwelcoming to an embryo trying to attach. The point being that you don't really know when you are ovulating and if used during your fertile period it still is only about 60% effective. The other nasty effect it can have is that 10% of Plan B failure pregnancies are ectopic.
People who rely on Withdrawal or Plan B regularly are called parents.
