Incident happened august 1st wasn’t really sure if anything got in me, took plan b anyways shortly after. bled august 6-10th. was supposed to get period aug. 17, sept. 4 and still no period. i know plan b and stress can delay it, but i’m still so scared. took 3 clear blue pregnancy tests. 2 1/2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 3 1/2 weeks after. all negative. plan on taking one more but im just so scared.
It's possible you are pregnant. If your periods are always regular, then you are likely to have been around your time of ovulation when you had sex. At that time of your cycle, you are better to opt for the other emergency pill called Ulipristal Acetate (Ella).
Emergency contraception is not as effective as regular hormonal birth control. It's simply worth a try in an emergency. That means there is already a higher chance of pregnancy.
Plan B works by delaying your ovulation until the sperm leaves your body. If you're already ovulating then it can't do that. You'd need one of the other methods of emergency contraception.
Some think Plan B works in other ways, but the Manufacturer does not claim that. They say it's possible, but don't say it does, as it has not been proven. You can see that on their website.
Apps to say when you're fertile are just estimates. That's why I always feel that if you're anywhere around your fertile time of the month (fertile for the duration of up to a week) it's best to opt for one of the other methods of emergency contraception.
Having said that, Plan B can cause the same symptoms that you are getting, so it's impossible to know until you're far enough along to show on a pregnancy test. Everyone is different in respect of how long it is before a pregnancy shows on a test.
Sometimes you can think you had a period, & still be pregnant, so I'd double check, even if you get a bleed in the meantime.
It sounds like it may just be the Plan B causing the delayed period, but i can't say for definite, as pregnancy is certainly possible.
