I went to my family doc yesterday, whom has been my pain doc. He gave me a 2 week supply of meds because I see my new Doc in 10 days. I just realized that I actually got 5 days more of meds than I should have. Had the date wrong. I've already filled the prescription. Should I tell my Doc what happened so that he don't think that I scammed him. I have a good relationship with him and don't want to mess that up. I sure don't want to get in trouble with the police. What should I do?
You can certainly be honest with the doctor, but I wouldn't really worry about it. I understand you concern which is certainly honorable. If it would make you feel better you can let the doctor know you mistakenly give him the wrong date and consequently got more meds then was necessary. I honestly think he will be ok with it though. Don't believe the police will be a problem.
