Is there an over the counter substitute for tramodal or ultram?

No, tramadol is a unique medication and there is nothing else exactly like it, either otc or prescription.
No. Nothing that is like tramadol. You might try ibuprofen, acetaminophen or Naproxen which are all OTC analgesics. They may help your pain and are certainly worth a try but they dont work quite the same way as tramadol does. Tramadol is an "opioid like" medication. It isnt a "true" opioid (it doesnt come from the poppy plant or is it a synthesized chemical similar to those made by the poppy) but it does act on the opioid receptors in the brain. It also has some antidepressant properties. It is a truly unique drug.
