I used a small amount of ORAGEL for a canker sore inside my cheek. I did not look at the exp. date (I thought I had gotten it within the past 14 months) or proper use, I have used this product many times before. I checked the date, and it is 4/2008. Two years too long it was kept, but I did not rinse and brush all of the residue off, for about a 36 hour period. Now my gums are very sensitive, inflammed, and bleeding in the spot the ORAGEL got on my gumline. How serious is this, do I need to go to my doctor and have this situation checked out right away, or should I wait it out and if it's not better in a week or two, then see a doctor? Thank you.
Outdated medicines usually do not cause much harm as they become ineffective anyways. It could be due to some kind of infection while using the non-rinsed tooth brush, suggest a remedy which might help, place a slightly crushed clove over the canker sore, if not cured then talk to your doctor/pharmacist, hope this helps, best of luck.
