I have a full tube of otomax for a dog of my past and have 8 mrsa eruptions open not draining, had 6 of them lanced 5 weeks ago and 2 have returned to pus pockets as well as 2 new ones forming, I am allergic to keflex, I took antibiotics for 2 of those 5 weeks , just tired of the sores breaking out and end of rope how to treat it, willing to use vet prescription if it will kill the disease, and prevent any new sores
Can otomax treat mrsa in humans?

To pinktoddy. From bestpup
Dog/cat medicine is specifically made with those animals in mind.?
I understand prescription's are expensive, however you don't want to use a dog ear antibiotic which by the way is specifically designed for a dogs ear canal.
One more thing, you don't know the exact antibiotics/ ingredients in the topomax. You might need a bacteria antibiotic and this topomax may be a yeast antibiotic
I'm sorry to say but I'd play it safe and I'd stick with the real medical doctors.
Hope you feel better soon.
If you have mrsa its doubtful that 2 weeks of keflex is going to get rid of it. You have it in your body, and until that is gotten rid of, you will keep breaking out. You need a culture and sensitivity done then you have to be on whatever antibiotic it says works best and probably for longer then the usual time the antibioitic is usually given.
