How many millagrams of OTC sleep aid ingredient, diphenhydramine, might cause fatal overdose?
Anything more than what's listed on the dosage instructions theoretically could be fatal, but I used to be addicted to benadryl and took 2500mg (100 x 25mg tablets in a 24 hour period) and suffered no ill effects other than my short term memory being completely jacked up for about a week, and double vision for about three days. The most consistent answer is 2800mg but that doesn't take into account tolerance, body weight, metabolism, physiology, etc. Just leave the stuff alone, is my best advice.
