i have a severe cold (with chest congestion) and i am taking leflunomide and prednisone. what over the counter medicines (such as guaifenesin) can i take?
Funnily enough there is potential for a serious interaction between leflunomide and prednisone. Also there is a potential for interaction between acetaminophen and leflunomide.
You can take the rest of the medicines such as antihistamines, phenylephrine and gauifenesin. There are no known interaction between these and your current medicines. If you plan to take combination medicines that contain acetaminophen as well, then please discuss with your doctor.
Please see link below for interaction in detail.
