... used drugs for osteo hard on gerd? I have Barretts Esophagus and have had breast ca so my choices are limited aren't they?
Do you take anything for the GERD? I take omprazole for mine, & I have the worst bones in the world according to my doctors. I have tried all of the biophasphates for bone rebuilding with no help. I am now on Forteo which is a daily injection you give yourself for 26 months. I am hearing that people are taking it longer, but I was told specifically by Eli Lilley to only use it for 26 months period! I took the daily, the weekly, & monthly version of Actonel. You just have to take it first thing in the morning when you wake up with a full glass of water & stay upright for 30 minutes. I usually crash sitting up on the sofa for 30 minutes. Can't have anything until that 30 minutes are up. I need my coffee in the morning to even wake up so it's easier to just sit up & fall back to sleep for awhile. Anyway I did not have any tummy problems with it at all. I would take my omprazole after the 30 minutes were up & I was fine. You really need to address this now & don't wait. If you have had a thoratic compression fracture you are a candidate for the Forteo injections. Speak with your doctor about this right away. I had a bone density after the first 12 months & have had bone density increase for the very first time. I wish you the best...
I tried fosamax and evista and could not tolerate either as they caused my interstitial cystitis to flare. I went back to taking calcitonin nasal spray, and I tolerate that very well. I know it's not as effective, but for now it's all I can do. Might be an alternative for you... I figure for me that it's better than nothing at all, plus I take calcium and d twice daily.
