need ing help for pain!!
Hi Kateyjax, I so relate to your condition & a few more in the mix too. I personally take oxycodone for my pain, but that's is starting at the top of the scope. What have you taken previously? It's different for everyone. Some do fine with NSAIDS ike celebrex, but alas, I can't take them. More info would really help in figuring out where you are on the scope of things...
Hi Kateyjax, you need to go see your gp and discuss the pain levels with him, and find out what options are available to control it. Personally, I take Celebrex, and I certainly know if I forgot to take it. There are other options, like Arthrotec, meloxicam, naproxen, etc. Some (most) of these have some side effects, the most predominant being stomach problems. If you aren't ready for a prescription, there is always Tylenol Arthritis. It has a form of naproxen included, at a lower dose than a prescription. Heat applied to the joints can also temporarily relieve the pain - I have a hot tub which I use often in the better weather, and in the winter I soak in the bathtub two or three times a week with epsom salts tossed in. Take care of yourself, and don't let the pain overwhelm you - just take each day as it is and adjust your activities accordingly.
I am treated for Lupus and my doctor said the pain is similar to severe arthritis. I take a few narcotics now due to my back but for the joint pain and aches I take Lyrica, Savella, Sulfasalazine and Celebrex and they all help a lot with that type of pain. If you are looking for something over the counter although I hear they are not too good for your body... Excedrin Migraine always worked great for me for all types of pains. Good luck to you and I hope you find relief!
