... bone stimulator two years ago. Nothing has worked to alleviate the pain. The pain doctor has now suggested a spinal cord stimulator. Has anyone else had a stimulator implanted after having the fusions, laminectomies and hardware?
I know what you are going through. I had fusion in my neck c5 c6 hardware and bone growth stimulation and I am in more pain now that I was after my accident. One of my Dr's. wanted to implant that to alleviate the pain before I had surgery. What made me not do that was the chance of infection and the chance of the electrodes going in the wrong place. This procedure does not use medicines narcotics but at the level of pain when its really bad needs breakthrough meds. Well as time goes by for me, I know that I will give it a try. With all the meds and surgeries etc. I am willing to try anything to stop the pain... If it doesn't work they can always take it out.
