I have Osteoarthritus in both of my knees and it hurts sooo bad at times, especially climbing the stairs to the bathroom and three bedrooms upstairs. My doctor reccomended both of them, but I haven't tried either of them yet. Has anyone had anyl luck with either of them? Thanks so much!!
I haven't had thesse drugs prescribed for me, but doctor suggested capasazin for my new thum & wrist her rebuilt in April, & I can't eve feel it, so don't know if the others would work or not. My surgergy has been a complete failure from my standpoint, & the osteoarthristis they ground completely out has already less than 6monts later is already returning. Very , very painful ordeal to go thru for the results which have me right back where I was 1 year ago! Good luck & let me know if it helps you at all...
I have been using Voltaren 1% Gel for quite some time. I LOVE IT!!! I have RA and OA and FM. It works well for me. They give you a measuring stick to squeeze out 2grams till you get the idea what 2gms is. I rub it on my knees, hands, and my back. It works so well. And you don't have to worry about tummy upsets!
The other I have never heard of.
If you go the Volteran route, get a prescription for 1000gms. It's cheaper getting 10 tubes vs getting 1 in the long run. For instance, 1 tube costs me $32 but 10 costs me $84. That's like getting 7 1/2 tubes free!!!
I have OA and and Anklyosing Spondylitis (many other things too- lol).
Anyway, I have had samples of Voltaren , but my insurance wouldn't cover it just for OA until The DR had you try a bunch of other medications first. I did find the Voltaren helpful, but it's not a very long lasting topical pain relief.
I tried something called Theragesic at CVS and have been a faithful user ever since. I know things work differently for everyone , so IDK if will work for you. I just found it to be the only topical relief that didn't burn my skin, didn't cost WAY too much and actually had some lasting relief to it. Hope that helps!
