I have had a series of cortizone shots in Right knee. ACL reconstruction 20+ years ago, and 7 surgeries since. I have also tried the Synvisc, with an aggravation of pain and didn't work. My question is... are they the same for reactions? I don't want to make it worse again, I am out of patience.
Hi there , I have had my reconstruction in 1989 and had similar results with both Synvisc and Orthovisc, both were the same and gave me more pain.I would not recommend trying it if you have had bad results with synvisc.I have had 5 surgeries total on my right knee and three on the left, I am on alot of pain meds as well as using ibuprofen (all other nsaids iritated my stomach to the point of bleeding) things like celebrex and voltaren just hurt my stomach too much. What else do you do for your pain? maybe I could recommend something, but chances are you've tried or heard of it.Good luck,if you have other questions I have added you as a friend :)
I had similar result. I receive orthovisc injections once or twice a year for 4 years. They have been very effective for me in alleviating knee pain in one of my knees. World of difference. CVS forced me to take simvisc 1. Not only was the injection MUCH more uncomfortable because I had one large injection versus 3 smaller. It did absolutely nothing and they might as well have injected water. It was complete failure. When I requested a treatment again, CVS once again tried to force simvisc on me but my doctor said no. Problem also is- price must be much cheaper for CVS but the same price to me. I hate cvs.
