This is my 1st time getting the injections. We had 3 appointments scheduled at 1st bt then he said let's do the next 2 on next visit. Seems like most ppl got 3 shots on 3 different visits from the ratings I am reading.
The way my ortho dr explained it to me was that the shots were spread out over three visits mainly for the comfort of the patient in allowing the fluid to move about and get into place with the least amount of discomfort. You need to remember the fluid being injected is a denser, gel-like substance as opposed to being a purely liquid substance. So from a purely medical standpoint, getting 2 doses at one time is probably fine. From a purely comfort for you standpoint, I'd probably ask to keep it to three separate appointments like originally scheduled. Perhaps your Dr is just trying to save you time and a co-pay. I've had these injections and would personally prefer to have them spread out, but that's just me. I hope this helps somewhat!
