... All seven screws in one of the plates have broken. He was told that the pain he has is due to that plate moving around. He has a softball size bruise in the ankle area. He was told the plates can be removed. He was told this is an elective surgery. Why is it considered elective and not necessary? Why is it supposedly normal or not unusual for these screws to actually break?
Orthopedic Surgery - My son had to have two plates and seventeen screws put in his leg a year ago.?
