... wrist. The local Orthopedic Dr put him in a cast and the following week they took X rays and said he would need surgery to reset it. After the surgery the Dr. said all went well but to come back in 10 days to see if maybe he will need to have a (pen or pens in not sure witch he said) I was blown away Im very worried. I have heard nothing but good things about this Dr. and he seems to be very good at what he does. Is this normal should I have a 2nd opinion even though there is not another O.S. in the area? Please help Im so worried for my son
Where it is broken its hard to heal it right, and very important that it is. It is normal if a fracture isn't healing like it should that pins are put in. Its the best way to have a stable fix. Its not a major surgery. My daughter did the same thing at somewhere around that age. She fell at girl scout camp. They had to pin it right away to set it correctly.
