I take ortho tri cyclen and missed 4 pills. I didn't realize it til I saw I was blebleeding and got shocked because I just got off my period 13 days ago. I've never forgotten pills, it has been a rough week. And I've never had my period come down early. I'm a Sunday starter and am lost on what to do. From my understanding I continue this pack and start a new pack Sunday. But is this ok with me getting my period soon? Do I need to continue the pack on the day I left off or on the one I'm supposed to take today?
What you're doing is what your body always does. When the hormone level drops it bleeds. That's what triggers your natural period too. You never ever alter your pills because of bleeding. This means you do as you are supposed to. Start it on Sunday. What you're having isn't your period. That will happen when you hit the sugar pills of the pack you're going to start on Sunday. Also, you need a condom until you've taken 7 active pills since the miss. You start the pack just like it was a normal sunday start, with day one.
Its not going to matter that by doing this you won't have a real period this month, we don't need to have a period every month if we're on the pill. It will not harm you in any way.
