... when they are coming?
Ortho-Novum 7/7/7 - I get VERY irregular periods. Sometimes months and months apart! I never know?
Added 16 Apr 2013:
I never know when my periods are coming because of the severe irregularity. I want to start my prescription of the 28 day 7/7/7Ortho Novum. I am not sure when to start taking this because I do NOT want to wait until my next period; simply because my next period could be multiple months away! What do I do? When do I start my 7/7/7 ortho novum? The purpose of taking this is so I can regulate my period. Also, I've never been on birth control or anything like that before .
While it is a little better to start the Pill at period time, in a case like yours, you can start anytime. Just be sure to use back up protection, like condoms, for the first cycle (the first whole pack) to be safe since it is uncertain as to when you ovulate. It may take a few months, but hopefully it will help you regulate your cycle. When you get to the inert tablets, you are supposed to have your period, if it doesnt come, just keep taking the Pills and start your next pack when it comes due no matter if you have bled or not. Again, it may take a few cycles to become regulated. You may continue to have irregular bleeding for the first several months. If things are not regulating out by 4-6 months, you should see your prescriber again.
