... I had protected sex on wednesday of week three. My patch change day is saturday. I have endometriosis, and i started my period on saturday. However my period was more brown with some red, and lighter than normal. Should i be concerned about pregnancy?
If you were wearing your patch correctly for at least seven days prior to sex then you have a less than 2% chance for pregnancy. As a nurse for many years, implantation bleeding is not all that common and it would be very very light spotting if it did occur. Hormonal birth control will make your periods much lighter because one of the ways they work is to lessen the build up of uterine lining that is shed each month as ones "period" The hormones also prevent you from ovulating so if you used the patch correctly, you will not ovulate and with no egg present, there can be no baby no matter how many sperm are present.
