So, this is my 2nd month. Not sexually active yet but will be in 2 weeks. In two days, I start my patch free week but my patch fell off today. It really won't stick at all. should i get a new patch and waste it by taking it off in 2 days? I mean, i have to go back to the pharmacy and get a new box though but should i get a new patch? I thought about taping my patch onto my skin just for these 2 days but i remember reading somewhere on the official ortho patch site that i shouldn't do it. will it mess me over when i become sexually active in 2 weeks? we will be using condoms. But I'm just a bit lost and confused. My clinic is closed until January 3 due to renovation and holiday celebration so no one is there to answer my calls.
If you aren't going to be sexually active for the next 2 weeks I would just start my week off now. Then in a week put a new patch on. As long as it will be 7 days you have a patch on before sex. If you were sexually active I'd say just put a new patch on and skip this months week off altogther. You can tape around the edges of the a patch when it is new to keep the edges from getting caught and pulling off but taping one on that has lost its adhesive won't work because the patch has to be stuck to your skin to transfer the medications.
