... taking my patch off on the Sunday to start my patch free week, I forgot or got lazy and kept it on until Thursday. I imagined it wouldn't have any hormone left in it so I was using condoms. My period started on Saturday evening (which can be normal for me) but instead of starting my new cycle and using a patch on Sunday like I have before (when forgotten or got lazy to take off in time) I had a busy weekend and didn't put on new patch of week one for new cycle until Monday night so thats 48 hours late. I have no extra money for condoms , do we need to wait 7 days until we have sex ? Naturally I will need to change my patch day to Monday but I was thinking of changing to 6 day weeks anyways and go back to my usual Sunday this week. And maybe go back to 7 days the week after. Am I messing around too much ?
If you can't afford to purchase condoms depending on where you live, you should seek a community health centre that offers free ones . there are many clinics that provide it as well. If not, you should really consider applying the patch consecutively and follow the exact instructions to avoid pregnancy. What I do, I carry an extra patch on me at all times , and set an alarm on my phonw a day ahead and day of to remind me.
