I have been on the pill for three and a half years! I haven't got pregnant but it's suCh a pain in the ass! Half the time I forget and the other half i remember at the most inconvenient times! I tried to convince my doctor to give me an iud but she won't. My cramps are still almost intollerable with the pill and there is lits of clotting. Is it worth talking to her about the patch and giving it a shot or do the consequences just make it not worth it?
I have tried several different forms of birth control- Ortho Evra, Mirecette, Lo Estrin, Seasonalle. Of all of these, I have enjoyed Ortho Evra the best. It is really easy and convenient. I never forgot to change the patch every week; I do set an alarm to remind me, but it's easier to set a time to change that is easy and convenient to do so since it is only once a week instead of every night. As far as side effects, I never had any. It wouldn't be any worse than what I would have without birth control. I, however, do not have cramps or clotting normally. I hope this helps answer your question.
I HIGHLY suggest DEPO PROVERA,. It's a shot in the arm or butt? only 2x's a year! Every 6 months! I have tried the pill & so many other things. Depo works the best, It even helped with all the cramping & clotting. It's not a pain like the other's. always trying to remember if you took it or forgot? did you take it at the right time? OMG I FORGOT TO TAKE IT YESTERDAY... none of this with DEPO. IT's quivk, easy & you can necer forget! Good luck
I have been on the patch since i was 16 and I'm 27 now. It is a great method to prevent pregnancy and it also help a great deal with cramping. I use to have cramps that would make me ball up n cry for two days. Not anymore. N the best part is you can control you period to fit your schedule. It you have something important coming up and rather not be leaking, it is OK to either switch the week you take it off or continue a fourth week and take week five off. Just make sure you have your week to release. The iud was inserted after i gave birth n it made my cramps worse for a whole year. Nor to mention i would bleed for 15 days at a time. Its different for everyone, that's just what i experienced. I had it removed n IM sticking to the patch. I hope i helped. Good luck!
