This symptom started around June 20th 2015. I keep waking up with my hands completely numb that a couple fingers almost feel like they are burning. For the 1st hr after I wake up they hurt badly. I can't grab on to anything or make a closed fist. After a while the pain and numbness subsides, but my hands start to go numb seconds after holding onto something. Is this caused from Orsythia? Or is it another medication I am taking? I don't know if I need to list my other medications.

Added 20 Aug 2015:
I have been taking Orsythia for 4 months now and the pain started in Mid-July so I do not know what is causing this. I don't know if it is a symptom of another medication or what it is I just want it to stop. I don't notice any visible swelling in my hands but that is kind of what it seems like. But it is more like my hands go to sleep because all day if i hold onto something they start tingling but for the 1st couple hrs of the day I can't feel my hands and cant close my hand and even throughout the day it hurts to bad to make a full fist with either of my hands. Just looking for some help. I don't know if this can be answered on the internet or not. But its worth the try. If anyone thinks this symptom I am experiencing needs to be notified to a Dr. Immediately or if I am safe to see if it goes away on its own or is from any other medication I am taking.
Could be several issues... Sounds as if you are experiencing a sort of neuropathy. Which again, could be caused by various things. Diabetes, a blood clot, a simple pinched nerve. The medication you have named is a birth control. Heavy warnings of stroke and symptoms follow thses type drugs. Especially if you are a smoker the same time you are on this medication.
I recently went they the hand numbness, tingling, and inability to close hand or move wrist. Neurologist ordered an MRI, which found a herniated disc at C5/6. I had a ACDF surgery. (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion.) I'm a new woman. Look it up on YouTube. Some interesting pics and digital/computer generated videos of the surgery itself.
