i have just tried 40 mgs of propranolol an hour before giving a speech. I think it made me calmer but I was still nervous. Should I up the dose? I usually take 1.5mg of ativan but do not like the sides such as memory loss etc and was hoping P would deliver as well or if not better. should i combine them to get a better effect? Also will P help me speak slower as that is also one of my biggest issues.
I think you should contact your doctor and ask these questions, 40mg propranolol is a good dose for this and now that you know you can get through it should work better the next time. Don't up the dose many do it on 10mg and do not mix with the Ativan unless the doctor tells you it's okay you don't want to fall a sleep or slur your words while your up there. If anything maybe ask the doctor about 1&1/2 tablets of the propranolol if you still think you need to increase anything But again not without the doctors okay. Sounds like your doing okay and it seems to help the more you use it for this reason. Best of luck Chuck1957
