I'm currently taking 2.5 mg of the oral tablet form of Clonazepam until they can get me into a second sleep specialist ... and I also take 100 mg. of Trazadone ... question is this: has anyone used the wafer form of this versus the tablet form? Which did you like better/worse? Thanks! I'm just thinking that perhaps I can take less of the wafer formula since it dissolves on the tongue versus it going through the stomach and then into the blood stream? thanks!
PS My first sleep study gave me three results ... chronic organic insomnia, periodic limb movement disorder and restless leg syndrome ... isn't that a grand list! ;) My primary wanted me to see a neuro., I requested that they send me to a second sleep "specialist" and get another opinion? Or should I go the neuro route? I just want some solid sleep and my primary doesn't like me being on the 2.5 mg. of the clonazepam ... but without I do NOT sleep ...
A while back they where going to try me on the wafer but never did don't ask me why... I have been on clonazepam for 14yrs, one of my conditions is major panic/agoraphobia and I have issues with sleeping but not as bad as you..the racing thoughts etc... my thing you say that if you take wafer if I am reading this right you could take less clonazepam... if you feel the 2.5 is to much why not tell the doctor and he can lower it... also the 2 mg's if I am not mistaken have a line across them for if you wanted to try 1.5 to see if that's all you need etc... not sure if you just don't want to take this med or you feel it's to much for you... never the less I am not telling u to take 1.5, if you r wanting to try and see if a lesser dose works, I suggest u talk to your doctor about it... when they wanted to put me on the wafer they told me it was the same, but I really can't tell u for they never did put me on them they kept me on the pill... I was taking 2mg's 3x's a day in 2010 they had to up it for my sister passed in my apt, and needless to say I was a wreck putting it mildly..I am now down to 1mg 3x's daily... Also if your primary wants u to see a neuro I would do it... there will be a lot more knowledgeable people that perhaps tried the wafer so keep checking in and hope u stay with us..there r a lot of great people on this site and we all help each other etc... you can also go to top of page where it says drugs a-z and see what info they can tell you about the wafer... good luck... sorrry I couldn't help more..but like I said there r alot of people on this site who will add more info...
