... with suboxone. Has anyone had success in these places?? The local psyc hospital is just too scary and the Dr. told him good luck they only have .50 success rate. He came to me and begs me to help him and then goes to see the Dr.and gets treated like crap. The Dr. told him he was a loser. Is in-house the answer???
sena53, Your son's doctor sounds like an incompetent ass, if I may say so.
Perhaps your son would do well in a drug rehab. Is he addicted to suboxone, or opiates, I am confused about that detail.
You could google drug rehabs in your state, and call them, make sure they are not the "quickie" rehabs, the reason I say this is because I have heard that detox under sedation has resulted in many deaths. Hope I don't offend anyone here on that point. Good luck to you and your son!
I'm a bit confused. If he is continuing to take opiates with the suboxone, they will not work. Suboxone blocks any opiate from attaching to the receptors. Or is he addicted to suboxone? I agree with sweetlemon, his doctor is extremely unprofessional and should be reported. There are many inpatient facilities that can help your son. I wish you well and much success. If you could clarify your question, we may be able to help more?
Thanks for the responses. He just started the suboxone this month and will go off it and go through wd's just to get high on the black tar, then go through withdrawals and back on the suboxone, then back off again and use again. This whole month he has been sick and out of it. He is now on anti-depressants, xanax, suboxone, black tar, an inhaler because of his lungs and Codiene cough syrup, weed and alcohol. All the meds being subscribed by assorted Dr's., yes, even the weed (California) That's only this month!!! Because the first rehab was so cruel to him (telling him to come get his first dose of sub and then telling him when he got there he'd have to wait another 12 hrs, 38 hrs of withdrawal!!! and the private psch Dr told him what a loser he is, he is using even more and refuses ANY rehab. I'm so afraid he's going to die.
Im sorry to say this but it sounds like you need to get a PI (how you would go about doing that specifically i dont exactly know), prove he has a life threatening habit, and have a judge put an Emergency Detention Order (EDO) out on him, which means the judge finds him unsuitable to not be monitored by a psych hospital. That way you can TELL him that hes going to go to rehab, and if he wont go you have the right to call the police on him and they have the right to take him to a facility, even if its against his will. It might seem like a shitty thing to do to your child, but i GUARANTEE when its over he will be happy what you did for him
There are several excellent videos on suboxone on YouTube.com. Dr. Jeffrey Junig has a whole series of videos, a forum, and webpage devoted to suboxone. He is a Psychiatrist at Fon Du Lac Psychiatry. He does accept donations to fund his effort to educate people about suboxone. He does have videos about getting off suboxone. I hope you will watch these videos and it will at least give you some info about suboxone. His YouTube channel is SuboxDoc.There is another group of videos by New Beginnings Detox and Dennis Hansen gives a talk about how they get people off suboxone. I just found these videos a few weeks ago and think they are both very good. I am saying some Prayer for both of you and hope things get better soon.
If he truly wants to be rid of this sickness then the answer is YES. There is a drug that you take one time and in 24 to 48 hours you will be clean and more than likely have very little to no withdrawal symptons. Unfortunatly it is illigal in the US but is available in Mexico and Canada.
It is called Ibogaine and it is best called an addiction interuptor. It will give the person 3 to 8 weeks of time to get involved with a support group and work at staying clean. It isnt cheep but nor is feeding some of the habits I have seen people with.
If anyone wants to know more then give me a shout and I will be happy to explain how it works. It is a SIN that it is being withheld from us here in the USA. I love this country but every now and then it does something that REALLY ticks me off. This is one of them LOL
