hey everyone. I'm hoping this is actually a SUPPORT group. i've been on some type of drug for about half my life. currently, i'm battling an opiate addiction, mainly roxicodone (blues). i've had this particular addiction for the past 3 years. i've gotten clean a couple times. once, going cold turkey and the others were using suboxone. i keep messing up, though, and getting readdicted. it's been hard. i'm a stay-at-home mom without a car. it's usually much less depressing being stuck at home all day if i have a little bit of a buzz. i really want to get clean and stay clean, but once i hit day 2 or 3 of detox, i just need a few hours of relief. any advice or just helpful words would be appreciated. thanks a bunch
You have an illness called drug addiction. It is very cunning and baffling. It can take on a life of its own. How long were you on the Suboxone? Maybe you need to try again and stay on longer. Did you get addiction's counseling with the Suboxone? The Suboxone program is suppose to include addiction's therapy so to learn the tools needed to stay clean especially when the tempatation knocks as you know, it will.
You need a good support network of people around you. Have you ever tried Narcotics Anonymous? I really recommend getting in some kind of therapy whether NA or private. Can you get a ride or use the car in the evening? Dealing with the issues of why you turn to the drugs is a big part of recovery.

Hey Sweetie I'm right here with ya. I'm getting ready to have a bad night. I have let my med run out and I'm not sure I will be able to get a few before I can get a refill or not. Addiction is so very hard. It grabs hold of you before you know it. It doesn't make you a bad person. Feel free to talk anytime.
Hello. I am new here. I've had an addiction to hydrocodone and/or oxycodone for 10 yrs. It started with back problems young after delivering my daughter so the doctors had put me on them and I didnt realize I had an issue with them for about 3 yrs after being on them. I detoxed on my own once, cold turkey and was hell. I had bought one of those Detox 7 kits to clean my system out while I was detoxing. was about 2 weeks of hell. for some time I was up to about 10 a day. thankfully now I'm only on 4-6 a day. Well Monday morning I have an appointment now with an outpatient clinic so I can get off of them and stay off of them for good. The only reason I had ever went back to them was that I had needed surgery and couldnt leave the couch for a week from the pain of it.
The clinic I have the appointment with comes up as a listed clinic that helps you with suboxone so I'm hoping that that helps a lot because the only reason I havent gotten off of them again is the withdrawls. My father is an alcoholic so the addctive personality runs in the family. But just as my father does I get really bad physical DT's. Vomiting, the runs, shakes, chills, sweats and most times I'm basically seizure mode and everything hurts. Not to mention the panic attacks and not being able to sleep at all. But the addiction is way too expensive and probably killing my insides as well and I have enough medical issues. So in less than a week I will be on my way to recovery. If anyone has any advice I'm definetly listening. I'm pretty nervous.
I'm new here too and have a situation very similiar to yours.I'm a 27 year old mother and also addicted to opiates. I wish I could offer you some advice but unfortunately I'm no better off.I'm currently looking into trying subs..I really don't know off any other choices besides methedone and that's something I wouldn't even consider.Trust me Hon,I know what it's like to have to rely on these pills everyday and it's no way to live.I want a better life for myself and more importantly my children.I'm sure you feel the same way.Its comforting to know I'm not the only one going through this.We can do this!Just know I'm here to support you in any way I can as we go through this journey.I'm still trying to learn how to navigate this website but ill keep posted for updates on your situation. Hang in there and best of luck!
