Is it ok to have an opened vial of medication to use with multiple patients?ie: Brevital, or versed?

I am assuming that you mean opened down to the rubber stopper. That is just fine, as long as you use proper technique. If its opened to air then of course it can't be used again.

As long as it is a multidose vial, you can use it multiple times for different patients if aseptic technique is used to access the vial. If it is NOT a multidose vial then it should be used only once and the rest discarded. Multidose vials have preservatives in them to keep them "good" Single dose vials often do not have preservatives and that is why they should be discarded after one use
