I have been taking 1 10mg. Of opana every 8 hours for three days now. The pain has eased some but when I lay down to sleep the pain comes so bad I can't get comfortable I lay in pain for hours my doctor changed me from 6 Norco 10me a day to this opana, will it ever take my pain away.
Nothing short of being in a hospital in an induced coma will "take your pain away," hopefully who ever is prescribing your pain meds did not give you the impression that your pain would just vanish, not at all how it works (sure would be nice if it did though).
They only help you deal with it better, and it is not uncommon to hurt more at day's end.
This new medication works differently than the Norco, you may need to give it more time and also be a little more realistic about the expectations.
Hang in there.
