... said opana drug company had some kind of recall or something. I called my pharmacy and the indeed said they were out and said it could take months to fix. Anyone know anything about this?
I don't know much, except that I remember seeing a notice about recalls of certain Opana pills. There is a way you can set up your account here at DC so you get notified of FDA recalls and when the FDA approves new drugs, and other such notices. I didn't think it was all Opana products being recalled, just certain ones. Opana pills come as time released and immediate released meds. Your Doc probably figures since he doesn't which pills were effected he'd do the safe thing and put you back on Morphine. I think if you spend enough time reading here at DC and on the FDA web sites, you can find out which Opana products were recalled. Maybe there are still some available that you can take. You just need to spend time doing the research. I think PC's and search engines have made us all very lazy. Me included. We now want to type in 1 or 2 keywords and get immediate answers. Sometimes that's possible. But other times you have to do things the old fashioned way and spend hours reading articles looking for what you need to know.
I was just in my local pharmacy yesterday and I noticed the customer in front of me picked up a script for Opana. I think they were 30 mg. But don't hold me to that. So apparently not all Opana products were recalled. If the Morphine just isn't killing your pain you should go ask your pharmacy which strengths they still have. Once you know, maybe your Doc will give you a script for what is available. Or maybe you also need to try other pharmacies. But when I saw the script of Opana yesterday I thought of you.
I am a Chronic Pain Sufferer Long Story Short Wrecked my truck crushed a vertebrae they cut one of my ribs out ground it up to use to make me a bone graft vertebrae in a metal basket type thing placed that where my vertebrae was and screwed me together... I have been on different meds and the one I found that remotely worked I have been on for the last year was the 40mg Opana Er 2 times a day, and the 5mg opana Ir's... Well I just went and got my prescription filled Opanas are back on the shelves after the recall but I am sorry to inform everybody these have been reformulated they are now the very hard plastic gel type pills... Very sad to say these do not work going through withdrawal symptoms and they do not in any way take the pain away... So to help everybody out try to ask your Doctor for a Medication Switch unless you want to go through what I am going through.
I go back to my Doctors in 2 weeks but its gonna be a long 2 weeks taking these... Very dissappointed now all of us that truly needed this medicine that actually worked have been screwed because of all the abusers out there. I do not want to put little plastic circles in my body 5 times a day. I put one in a glass of water they never dissolve??? Does anybody know of a medicine that is comparable in pain control? That is still disolvable and not made of plastic... Please help any help is appreciated
