I'm really glad i found this support group..my family sure in the hell dont support me there big advise is that i have a problem and to go to rehab after the baby!!! I got on methadone 4.5 years ago from a doctor due to severe back pain... I wish I would of went to see her and just stuck with 5mg percocet... She started me off at 25mg daily and after 4yrs i am at 50mg daily..I am 14wks pregnant and my OB is now managing my methadone... And even though I am only allowed 50mg a day I usually end up taking 80-100mg a day and usually at one time! I dont want to harm my baby but dont know what else to do! Most months I end up running short due to taking too many!! I dont know what to do... Every month I always tell my self that I am going to give them to someone to hold for me and allocate a certain amont for me every few days but it never happens! When there in my hand I can never give them up! I have good intentions... Is what my mother says!! Well hope to get some advise!! Thanks...
Sorry sweetie - but this is a time where you have to tell yourself that there is no other option! I don't know the specific effects on a baby from methadone but do know you are causing your body and your baby extreme stress from taking too much Methadone some days, then not having enough for others. What you do with your body is up to you, but right now you must think of your baby! You would never forgive yourself if the baby was hurt during one of those "less" times. You MUST do whatever it takes to help your baby be born safe and happy. Please, please I beg of you - get off this computer and call a friend to enlist their help in this. Sorry to be so harsh but a precious life is at stake - yours, and your baby. Please take care and let us know how things are going - we do very much care here!
