Just recently came off the anti depressant sertraline 1 month ago and now experiencing symptoms of mania. 400mg not theraputic due to my small frame cant be increased. Dont want feelings 'blunted' or to lose energy levels and feeling of wellness but recognise mania not normal either how can I find balance?
Iwas on lithium and could not tolerate it because they wanted it at a higher level. You may want to google low dose lithium by medical Dr wright. He uses lithium oratate, also some studies show 1-5 grams of fish oil can have a benefical effect on mood.Using other mood stabilizers with a little lithium like 150mg qd can booster the leveling effects without the tiring or flattenibg effects. You are on the right track, DO NOT GIVE UP AND KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS I now take 3 grams of fish oil and low dose xanax xr and also low dose trileptal. I cant take antidepressant because of the side effects.I will be looking to take the oratate maybe in the future, you do not need a prescription and its fairly cheapm for one months supply about $10.00. If you try the fish oil do not substitue it for flaxseed, start with 1 pill and wait a week and increase by 1000mg or i gram. This is safe and no toxciticy and I know several people it works well for. The relief comes on gradually and I went off it and I did notice the difference. Good luck. try to get sleep by taking a good benzo at night to stop the racing if you can and hang in there, do the research and I really mean it I know something will work for you. Some Dr.s r reluctant toward low dose lithium because they just dont know.Any questions just get in touch.
