how should we treat the diarrhea and cramping?

You can't really do anything for the diarrhea or cramping... may just have to bear it. If it is really bad then see your doctor again to see if they change the antibiotic.
It takes 5.5 x elimination half lifes for a medicine to be out of ones system. The elimination half life of Omnicef (cefdinir) is approximately 1.7 hours. It should be out of ones system in about 9.4 hours.
