I have had stomach pain for two months. The pain feels like a tightness with severe above the navel. I don't feel like I have heart burn..or "GERD". I cannot do my all daily activities and need some relief. My doctor put me on Omeprazole and my diet is very bland, no acidic foods. I have been taking this medication for 9 days and no relief... yet.
I woke up during the middle of the night in May with what I thought was indegistion(sp) and heart burn. I took some tums and went back to sleep. That happened a couple of times that night but I just thought it was the above. Well, the next day I went about doing my regular chores and the pain in my abdomen continuted to get worse. I called my daughter and she brought me to the ER. It was on a Friday of course when most drs. leave early. Well, it turned out to be pancreititis. I was in the hospital for five days with horrible pain. If you are continuing to have this problem I would definitely go see a specialist. It could be nothing or it could be something to worry about. Not trying to scare you but why take chances... Much Luck to you...
