My 6month old grandson has been put on this medicine and I am worried about the long term side effects?
There are more long term effects of NOT treating acid reflux (esphageal scarring causing difficulty swallowing and possibly needing surgery to break up the scar tissue) than in treating it with medication. This drug appears to be safe long term. My niece had to take it when she was a little bitty thing too and she is fine. This drug just reduces the amount of stomach acid being produced.
