Ok taking an informal poll?
I was diagnosed with borderline endo when I was 16. Had two laperoscopies
by the time I was 23. It is definitely a problem that fibro patients have.
In fact, when I read all of the problems that could be related to fibro I was shocked! I think I checked off all but about one or two. :(
So, put me down as one for your poll.
I have been officially diagnosed with endometriosis. I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. However, after multiple surgeries, including a total hysterectomy, I still have pain. I don't think it's fibro, because the pain is limited to my pelvic and lower back area. But it wouldn't surprise me to be diagnosed just because they've run out of answers for me! I have been given fibro meds, which did not help!
I personally don't think the two are exclusive to each other. They may be in your particular case. Fibro is believed to be started by a trumatic event in ones life whethter it be endo, or back surgery or child abuse. Just about anything qualifies. It's how each individual reacts to it. I am sure their are other that have had endo & fibromayalgia, but as I said it's probably more coincidance. My husband & several other men on the site have fobro also, & they surely didn't have endo. So there you are. Hope this helps...
After my car accident and I was diagnosed with Fibro, my period STOPPED! That was over 17 years ago, and my doctor gives me a blood test each year to see if I am in menopause (I am of the age), and I am NOT. Not that I miss having my period, but I would like my body to be 'normal' again. I don't think that they are related. I just think that fibro screws up your body all over, especially hormones.
