Have occasional "spiking" blood pressure. Anyone else? What meds? Any natural treatments?

Have a doctor. Been taking amlodipine. Plays with my head - confusion, diminished mental acuity, constant fatigue. Dr doesn't listen. Just wants to continue med. At my suggestion he reluctantly listed 4 other meds for me to research, Have done so. All read like dangerous poisons. Am at wit's end. There has to be a better way to control "occasional blood pressure elevations" (like that description - better than "spiking").
