... me feel. I drive everybody crazy, myself included. I have to have everything clean, neat, in it's place. I'm not about germ's, it's just neat orderly. Anybody out there feel this way?
Just wondering what all you have tried. I'm not OCD, but I work at a psych hospital and we occassionally have folks who suffer from it. I do know that clomipramine (anafrinil), fluoxetine (prozac), and paroxetine (paxil) can all be used to treat OCD symptoms; just curious which ones you may have been prescribed and what exactly is it that you're experiencing that makes you not what to take the med.
It has been a while since i've taken some of them, prozac, of course. Right now i take Alprazolam 1mg, Diazepam 10mg, Amitriptylin 100mg. recently i have started Tizanidine 4mg, I have anxiety and panic attack's and some depression. The Rx. i took, can't remember all the name's i tryed, made me tired, too tired to even clean alittle, i just sat and watched t.v. and looked at all i wish was done and it made me real depressed, i stayed on them long as i could stand it, hoping it would level out, changed Rx. etc. But alway's had the same effect on me, so now i just have went back to cleaning everything. I get a real "natural high" when i get something cleaned, like the floor's, car, yard, it feel's so good to look at what i got done, so nice and pretty. But then i look around ,and see something else, and here i go. I have alway's had good blood pressure, lower than most people, but no problem's.
Then about 2-3 month's ago, i was taking my husband;s B. P. and just did mine it was like 190/ 100. So i started checking it different times of day etc. for several week's and it stayed high. Went back to Dr. he started me on Atenolo 50mg, It helped some but still was high so also added, Hydrochlorot 50mg, now my B.P. is real good. Around, two -three month's ago i woke up one morning with ringing in both ear's, didn't think much about it, but it lasted all day, and i thought tommrow, it will be gone. Never went away, then started having vertigo. I had went to my regular dr. and we had discussed the ringing, he done some test's and said it was Tinnitus, and put me on Meclizine 25mg. This has really helped with the vertigo. He has made me an appointment with E.N.T. Dr. for the end of March, so, i'll see what he think's.
Sorry, had to quit for a minute, but i have had O.C.D. all my life, my mom say's ever since i was 2or 3 year's old, had to have everything in it's place. I'm not that way about anything but, cleaning and a place for everthing, and everything in it's place, which to me, make's sence, I alway's know where thing's are, don't have to go looking for stuff, I see other people who have their stuff scattered everywhere, and couldn't find something if they looked forever, I'm not someone who repeat's the same thing over and over, like washing my hand's or have to open and close a door x amount of time's. Just have to have thing's clean and neat. I do go alittle far, like all my clothes have to hang the same direction, same kind of hanger's, solid's together, then plaid's etc. But i alway's know where that shirt or gloves etc. is at, so That's my life in a small version.
I'm sure this is more than you wanted to know, I'm tired of my bathroom looking like a pharmacy, don't want to take anything more. I have very bad dry mouth from some of my Rx. That's hard to deal with, but i've had it for year's too. Just keep something to drink with me, wake up at night and my mouth is like cotton. It has been hard on my teeth. I've tryed the toothpaste's and mouth washe's all kind's of thing's but none make much difference. Thank's for your time, sometime's feel's good to talk about it to someone you don't know. I don't tell anybody about it, make's me sound crazy, It has been hard on my husband and family. I am blessed with a great husband who has learned to live with all my little quirk's. Thank's
