I've been on the nuva ring for months and during this cycle, I took out my nuva ring after 3 weeks (on Sunday - 6.7), got my period, but forgot to pick up my new prescription and ended up having unprotected sex on Sunday night (6.14) and Monday (6.15), but I have the nuva ring now since I picked it up at the pharmacy. So, I put it in 1.5 days late. Is there a possibility I could have gotten pregnant from having unprotected sex today (the day after I was supposed to put a new nuva ring back in) but didn't until much later tonight? And will I be immediately protected since I put a new nuva ring in a day late? Thanks!!
Yes there is a chance of pregnancy and no you aren't protected immediately. You will need a condom for the first week. Its important that you get your ring before you need it.
