... haven't had a period. I've been suddenly waking up between 4-6 am with aching in my pelvis but still no bleeding. i know that I'm going to just follow the schedule and the body is just adjusting but it just seems unhealthy to put back in the ring for another month when i haven't had a period at all
Women on Depo -Provera, Implanion, Mirena etc. can skip periods for a year or more with no harm. It is not necessary to HAVE a period. A period is nothing more than shedding unnecessary uterine lining. More than likely you will yet start. It can take until the last day sometimes to have a period and you may even skip one here and there. If you miss two consecutive periods in a row, you should test for pregnancy. If you prefer, you can wait until this seven days is up and if you still havent bled, you can test then. Most likely, if you used the Ring correctly, it is just adjusting to the new hormones.
I've been using the ring going on 5 years now. But it has sometimes taken 7, yes 7 days for me to start my period. So even though it says to leave in for 3 weeks then out for one. That's not always how it goes. I wait for my period to start. It's never taken more than a week, so i wait then once my period is over then i insert a new ring. I don't believe the people who created this took into consideration how long it could take for the women to start her period. The instructions should really say, "Leave ring in for three weeks, wait to have your menstrual cycle, once cycle is over insert new ring. *Note it could take up to 7 days to begin cycle". okay sorry just my opinion there. Anyway, my point is it's normal for it to take awhile to start your period once the ring is removed.
