It does not protect you for seven days if you took it out early. However if it was in when you had sex it was protecting you then. Your cycle may be skewed because it wasn't in that long. You may get your period when you would have without it, or late or early. What are you doing now? If you have put a new one in then did you use a condom for 7 days? If you haven't put a new one in why not?
