I've been using nuvaring for about 6 months or so and I have always put it in and taken out on Sundays. Last week I took it out on Friday because I wanted it to be lined up so I wouldn't have my period the upcoming Saturday. After taking it out on Friday, I had unprotected sex on Sunday but got my period the next day which was the expected time and lasted the normal duration when I use the ring. I put a new one in on the next Friday but was I protected for those few days it was out early?? And is there I chance I could be pregnant even though I already got my period because I know that is possible. Thanks.
No you havent' been protected since you took it out, until you have it back in 7 days. It is not possible to get your period when you're pregnant. There are some people who have bleeding but it isn't their period. Bleeding when pregnant means there's something wrong. You're not pregnant but you can't be doing that to manipulate your period. You can't manipulate your cycle like that. If you don't want to have your period over a certain time you don't take your week break, you put a new ring in. I don't know why you girls think you just stop birth control anytime and its ok.

NuvaRing - I counted the weeks wrong and took out the nuva ring exactly a week early. I took it out?
