when I lay down my back, arms, and legs, go numb but they hurt and tingle. I can't sleep. My neck hurts also. What is that?
Dear Chris... yes it is quite possible u have something going on n your cervical area of your spine that could be compressing nerves branching from whatever level causing the symptoms. Depending on the level would determine the specific symptoms... all the different levels from C1-C7 produce symptoms to certain areas correlating with the level. The only way to know specifically is to go and see a spine specialist or neurologist or neurosurgeon and then get an MRI. Not to alarm u but cardiac pathology also exhibit symptoms down shoulder, jaw, and down left arm so this should not be ruled out either. I would make an appointment first with a spine specialist or one of the others that I recommended. Of course if u start having other symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, etc., then of course you should go to the ER if necessary or cardiologist.
I hope this helps and I hope u feel better soon...
Hi chriswillusa! Welcome to Drugs.com!
I had a blood clot (DVT) in my left thigh in March. Sometimes, I have numbness & tingling & pain in my legs & feet & left hand. I just had some vascular tests performed.
Please visit your doctor so that tests will be ordered to get this checked out. Please go soon, don't neglect this condition.
Good luck & best wishes to you, chriswillusa!
from Wendy :)
I totally agree with most answers given, & once you are checked out if nothing serious if found, please consider some chiropractic adjustments to relieve pressure from the nerves around the spinal area. Even arthritic spurs can cause some of the things you are describing. I have them really bad along with DDD, & all of it together give me a lot of the symptoms you discribe. Not to make light of any of your symtoms, for sure, but chriopractic adjustment can really help relieve a lot of the problems., plus you usually get a good massage etc... Just some thoughts...
