I wish I could keep it down. In the past few months ive formed intense nerve pain in my foot. As well as skeletal pain. It fells like im getting stabbed with real hot needles. And when I put pressure on it... it drops me. Im currently on Nuerotin and ultram. I take 4 800 mg a day. And 3 ultram with it. It does nothing. I was thinking bout trying nucynta or oxy codone. Anything to stop the pain. Any advice?
If you're running that high all the time you need to find a dr who will put your behind in the hospital and fix you before you're totally broken. Every time your blood sugar is over 200 for more then 5 minutes it is destroying cells in your body, cells in your heart, kidneys, blood vessels, nerves. If you keep going that way I'd say you probably won't have to worry about nerve pain in another 5 years because you won't be alive anymore. I sure hope I scared you into getting to a real dr who knows how to treat diabetes and into following dietary plans. Find a good endocrinologist.
A Dr visit, re-evaluation sounds in order. As for pain meds, we no longer have the privilege of asking for those, especially specifics. Rampant abuse has caused red flags everywhere. I suggest explaining the pain only, let the Dr make the decisions of what, if and how much. Based on your post, Oxycodone probably wouldn't help anyway, Ultram is commonly unhelpful to many folks. See the Dr and get this checked out, chances are you'll get different meds assigned.
I think that it is a risk to ask for any controlled drug substance by name can get you red flagged. Too many ruined it for those of that, that truly need it. I have never had diabetes but I am being treated for nerve pain along with migraines and Nucynta ER works better than anything else I tried. It helps me sleep a little better as I am not waking up constantly in pain and my pain is in my foot as well. It also helps with the stabbing sensation. It is one of the best or in my opinion, is the best medicine out there. It has something in it that makes me feel more relaxed as well so its great in that aspect as well. When you are in pain a lot, it is easy to feel down about it and this helps you not feel as down. Good luck with everything and I hope it goes well for you. Hopefully if you tell your doctor your symptoms, they will offer this to you.
I don't see the harm in saying you simply did an internet search for the type of pain that you have and seen where this helped a lot of other people but then again, I would do nothing to steer you wrong either. Its sad when you go to the doctor and you are going for on going bronchitis and they are looking at you weird because they are so scared you might want or need the cough medicine with codeine which I don't care for because it makes me nauseated but when you are coughing up a storm, not much you can do but go and get seen. I think a lot of doctors are scared now because of those that chose to abusive prescription medications. Again, good luck to you.
You need to see an endocrinologist asap. Your blood sugar is way over too high. As for pain meds they usually don't help nerve pain at least that is what I experienced. Gabapentin or Lyrica work best for diabetic nerve pain. Also, Alpha lipoic acid with Vit B1- B6 - B12 etc.. I get the B complex so it covers all the B vitamins. Do you take medication for your diabetes? I wish you the best outcome..
