I take Mobic and 325 aspirin daily with a muscle relaxer to be able to do my daily routine... I take the mobic in the am and aspirin in pm. I have torn my rotor cuff and will be having surgery next week and the pain has increased to where I am needing to take a Norco 5 in the pm and will probably increase for a short time after the surgery. I want to know what shouldn't be taken together. I also have liver problems.
If you already have liver problems, you should talk with your doctor about this. The tylenol in the norco is NOT good for the liver. Most drugs do through the liver, but the mobic is a NSAID, & is mostly hard on your stomach. If you can tolerate it, it's probably best & the aspirin will have to be stopped at least 5 days before surgery do to bleeding problems. My suggestion would be to talk with your surgeon & see what he suggests for pain. they do make oxycodone n 5 mg that has no tylenol in it. It's a bit stronger than the norco & may help your pain better. Wishing you the best with that shoulder. My husband has had two of these surgeries., & my son just had his done too. You will be in a lot of pain afterwards. Tell them about your liver problems & bet they will order oxy or something that doesn't affect the liver. This is not an easy surgery to go through either. You will have your arm tied to your side for 3 months or more. Be sure to do the physical therapy afterwards or you can re-injure your shoulder & it won't be able to be fixed again. Very, very important to do this even if you feel it isn't. Best wishes to you...
