I have been using the straight Novalog and just received a script for the 70/30. Is there a diffence. I used to take the Levimer 70/30 and it was not working as well as the straight Novalog.
NovoLog (insulin aspart [rDNA origin] injection) is a rapid-acting human insulin analog used to lower blood glucose. NovoLog is homologous with regular human insulin with the exception of a single substitution of the amino acid proline by aspartic acid in position B28, and is produced by recombinant DNA technology utilizing Saccharomyces cerevisiae (baker's yeast).
NovoLog Mix 70/30 (70% insulin aspart protamine suspension and 30% insulin aspart injection, [rDNA origin]) is a human insulin analog suspension containing 70% insulin aspart protamine crystals and 30% soluble insulin aspart.
There is difference in composition between the two, for more details please talk to the pharmacist/doc who prescribed the insulin.
