I am 31 & have been battling depression, anxiety,& migraines for most of my life, I have tried all of the more recent meds... lexapro, paxil, pristiq, seraquil, topamax, etc. & none have been successful,my doctor says that I have run out of newer meds to try so she has decided to try this, I am very susceptible to serious side effects... just curious about what I should expect & if this one may actually help
Should I take nortriptyline, what can I expect?

Hello thinkimgoingcrazy. I read through some of my notes and will add the following. Nortriptyline/Pamelor is from the cyclic family and requires blood testing in as much as the level of the drug in your blood system needs to be monitered. The dose of the drug to be effective is limited to a scale. (Much as Lithium) Once on the drug, your doctor should be following, having your blood tested to adjust the dose. The side effects vary. Weight, (increase) constipation, etc. It is one of the successfull anti-depressants from the cylic family. And still, perscribed as you can attest to. Regards pledge
