I got Mirena on 8/28. I was one day into my period. I had it for another day and a half and then it was gone. Is this normal? I've had a little spotting, but not much at all. I also still have cramps. How long does the cramping last? Thanks!

I have just had my 2nd mirena inserted 9-20. I got my first one in November of 2013 and my periods stopped almost immediately. I had none with the 1st mirena. when I get the1st removed and the second replaced I spotted for a few hours and then it completely went away and haven't bled since. Although with the first one I had no side effects this time around I am having a ton. What kind of side effects are you having? I posted a few questions about mine to see if anyone else experienced them but no one has answered back yet.

Mostly spotting. I had cramping the first week. I've now had a normal/light period since 9/15. I've only had it in for about a month, so I don't want to worry about anything just yet. It's probably too early after insertion to tell.
Ya it is. This time around I am really bloated. Like really to the point I look pregnant. And I'm having weird spasms throughout my body.
Is that normal? I kinda feel bloated too. I just want my periods to be shorter. That was the main reason I got this. I was bleeding for 3 weeks at a time.
I don't know I am actually at the doctors now getting things checked out. I'll let you know. If you are lucky your periods will completely stop. Mine did..I haven't had one in about 5 years(which I don't know if that's good or bad haha).
Thanks! Good luck!
