My dermatologist prescribed Mentax to treat my nail fungus. Several finger nails were swollen and had pronounced horizontal ridges. Since I started using the Mentax on my finger nails, the three worst have begun to separate from the bed at the cuticle, and I expect they will completely fall off. This occured with several toenail while using Mentax, and they grew back and appear more "normal" now.
Also, under my most swollen thumb nail, there is a dark area.
Since using Mentax on my finger nails, they appear worse than ever. The Mentax seems to have caused them to be brittle, and they are all broken and short. Is this just a transition period while the fungus is being killed and removed? Or is something terrible going on with me?
